Cut your cancer risk in half

vegies in fridgeWhen avoidance of both tobacco and sun damage is combined with healthy diet, weight management and regular physical activity, experts now estimate that nearly half of all cancers could be prevented.

Think about that – we could cut cancer incidence by almost 50 percent, simply by making healthier choices each day.

Now take tobacco and UV radiation out of the equation.  The American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) estimates that fully 1/3 of the most common cancers in the U.S. -- almost 338,000 cases every year -- could be prevented if Americans moved more, weighed less and ate more healthfully.

The figures are probably similar for Australians. Prevention is much better than cure. Plan for a cancer free future. There is much you can do to reduce the risks.  Ideally cancer risk reduction measures start before puberty! But it is never too late.
